Imaging Workshop Series: Spring 2001

Scope: This is a casual workshop, emphasizing a hands-on approach to using the various brain imaging software packages lying around our lab. Many of the sessions are directed at new users who are wondering if and how a software package could help them in their research. Others are aimed at intermediate users who want to use a piece of software more efficiently or discover new analysis approaches.

Each week, a knowledgable "driver" will present a software package, going through a typical analysis with a sample data set, and stopping for as many side trips as possible. The data sets will be stored permanently at the LfAN so folks can practice at their leisure.

People from outside the lab are welcome to attend. Audience participation is encouraged, and the schedule is flexible. Each week's topic is independent, so you can pick and choose which sessions you want to attend. As you can see, there are a number of open slots below. If you want to suggest a topic, email Terry Oakes (oakes@psyphw.psych.wisc.edu).

Schedule:

The workshops for this semester will not begin until mid-March, due to the move into the
new Waisman/Keck lab this February! or March! or April! and May!

Location: Meet in the Lab for Affective Neuroscience conference room (373) in the Brogden Psychology Building, 1202 West Johnson St. (SW corner of Charter and University). As the new Keck Imaging Lab in the Waisman addition becomes operational, we will meet there instead. See the "Location" column above for up-to-the-minute details.

Time: 2:00 PM most Thursdays. We will go for a couple of hours, give or take an hour and a half.

Questions? Please email any questions or comments to Terry Oakes (oakes@psyphw.psych.wisc.edu). If you have a cool and/or useful piece of software you would like to demonstrate, we would love to see something new.

RSVP: If you want to attend a particular session, please email Terry by the Monday before the session, so we can plan room size and hire extra drivers if needed.

Previous Workshops: You can see topics covered in previous workshops below:

Instructions for drivers: If you are presenting one of the segments, please read the driver's guide.
