Participants in the UW Well-Being Study will attend three sets of lab visits at our facilities on the UW-Madison Campus. Sets of lab visits will be scheduled 3-6 months apart and will last 2-3 days and 1-2 nights each.

In the lab, participants will complete an MRI brain scan, an overnight sleep study, blood draw, computer tasks, and surveys.

During the second and thirds sets of visits, participants will spend time engaged in mindfulness and loving-kindness/compassion practices in our meditation space. The Center for Investigating Healthy Minds is one of the world’s only research centers equipped with both advanced brain imaging facilities and a meditation space designed for scientific research.

Participants will be compensated up to $1635 for time spent in the lab. Participants who do not live within 50 miles of UW-Madison may also receive travel accommodations and additional compensation associated with travel costs.

Participants must be 25-65 years old and must have significant meditation experience. To see if you meet study eligibility criteria, click the Join Our Study button above and complete the survey. Study staff will contact you after reviewing the results of the survey.
