Spatial Normalization: AFNI, SPM, and FSL – Effect on Functional Data
Purpose:
Compare the quality of normalization by comparing averages of structural images normalized with each method.
Methods
Normalize T1 — weighted structurals for 72 fourteen year — old subjects using first AFNI’s affine normalization program and then FSL’s fnirt. The average brain was computed and is displayed below. Image normalized with AFNI’s @auto_tlrc affine normalization are shown at the top. Those normalized with FSL’s fnirt + apply_warp after resampling to the same grid as the anatomical are shown at the bottom.
